The Gym add-on helps you run a gym, studio or fitness club from one place. You can check people in at the front desk, schedule classes, take bookings, record attendance and manage memberships and payments. This page is for gym owners, managers and front-desk staff. It explains the pages and a simple daily routine.

## Before you begin [#before-you-begin]

* Gym is an add-on. The **Gym** item appears in the sidebar only after the add-on is installed for your workspace. If a page says **Install Gym Operations**, choose **View Gym add-on** or ask your workspace owner.
* What you can do depends on your role. Viewing, editing and managing are separate permissions. Only Gym managers can run setup.
* Gym uses [Memberships](/memberships/) for plans and renewals, and [Payments](/payments/) for billing. You manage both from inside Gym.

## Where to find it [#where-to-find-it]

Open **Gym** in the main sidebar. The pages are grouped like this:

| Group | Page | Use it to… |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |

On a phone, these pages are in a drop-down labelled **Gym page**.

## Get started [#get-started]

The first time a manager opens Gym, the guided setup starts. It walks you through your gym type, membership plans, classes, members and front-desk settings. You can stop and come back at any time. See [Guided gym setup](/gym/guided-setup/).

## A simple daily routine [#a-simple-daily-routine]

1. **Open the day.** Go to **Gym → Overview** (titled **Today**). Check **Sessions today**, **Booked spots** and **Spots available**.
2. **Clear old visits.** If you see **Visits still open from a previous day**, choose **Review open visits** and check people out.
3. **Welcome customers.** Choose **Open front desk**. Search each person, confirm access and check them in. See [Front desk and check-in](/gym/front-desk/).
4. **Run classes.** Open each session from **Schedule**, check in booked customers and promote from the waitlist if spots open. See [Classes, bookings and attendance](/gym/classes-and-bookings/).
5. **Follow up.** In **Front desk**, open **Follow-ups & desk tools** and review **Needs attention**, such as **Failed renewals** or **Not attending**.
6. **Close the day.** Check out anyone still inside with **Check out everyone…**.

## Worked example: a small yoga studio [#worked-example-a-small-yoga-studio]

1. The owner runs guided setup and picks **Scheduled classes**.
2. They create a "10-class pass" and an "Unlimited monthly" plan.
3. They create classes "Morning flow" and "Evening yin", and schedule both weekly.
4. Members book through their private member page. The front desk checks them in, and each class uses one unit of the pass.

## If something goes wrong [#if-something-goes-wrong]

* **Gym is missing from the sidebar.** The add-on is not installed, or your role cannot see it.
* **I keep being sent to setup.** Setup is not finished. Choose **Save and exit** to leave, or finish it with **Finish setup and open front desk**.
* **A member can't check in.** Open their membership from the front desk with **Review membership**. See [Front desk and check-in](/gym/front-desk/).
* **A class is full but a regular wants in.** Turn on **Allow a waitlist** for the session.

## FAQ [#faq]

### Do I need Memberships and Payments separately? [#do-i-need-memberships-and-payments-separately]

No. Gym includes shared membership and payment pages, reachable from the **Billing & access** group.

### Can members book classes themselves? [#can-members-book-classes-themselves]

Yes. Staff can share a private member link. Members then book classes, join waitlists and see their pass. See [Front desk and check-in](/gym/front-desk/).
