Affiliate payouts

This guide shows you how to get paid as a Spacebrain affiliate. You will choose your payout country, connect a Stripe account, finish verification and check your payouts. You can set up payouts at any time; your commissions keep adding up in the meantime.

Before you begin

• Join the affiliate program. See Affiliate program.
• Know the country where you legally live. You must choose it before Stripe setup, and changing it later needs support to replace your payout account.
• Be ready to give Stripe your identity and bank details. Stripe collects these directly. They never pass through Spacebrain.
• Allow pop-ups for Spacebrain. Stripe opens in a separate window.

Spacebrain cannot give tax advice. You are responsible for your own taxes on affiliate income.

Where to find it

Go to Affiliate → Payouts and find the Payouts card.

Set up payouts

1. In Payout country, choose the country where you legally reside. The Set up payouts button stays disabled until you choose one.
2. Choose Set up payouts. You see "Opening Stripe…" and Stripe opens in a new window.
3. Complete Stripe's questions: your identity, address and bank account.
4. Return to Spacebrain and refresh the page.

What you should see: the card shows your payout country. When Stripe finishes verifying you, the card shows Active and says your Stripe account is verified.

If Stripe needs more details

You may see "Stripe still needs a few details before it can pay you." Your earnings are safe. Choose Finish verification and complete what Stripe asks for.

If the country shown is wrong, contact support before you continue verification.

How payouts work

1. A commission starts as pending while the program's refund hold period runs.
2. After the hold, it becomes eligible and counts toward Available for payout. The card also shows how much is still in the hold window.
3. When your eligible balance reaches the program minimum, Spacebrain sends it to your Stripe account automatically.
4. Stripe then pays it out to your bank on its own schedule.

The hold period and minimum are set in the affiliate program terms. Commissions can be reduced or reversed if the customer's payment is refunded, disputed or found ineligible.

Payout history

The Payout history table shows Date, Amount, Status and Reference.

Worked example: setting up in Canada

1. Taylor, who lives in Canada, opens Affiliate → Payouts.
2. Taylor picks Canada in Payout country and chooses Set up payouts.
3. In Stripe, Taylor enters personal details and a Canadian bank account.
4. Back in Spacebrain, the card first says Stripe needs a few details. Taylor chooses Finish verification and uploads the document Stripe asks for.
5. The card shows Active. When Taylor's eligible balance reaches the minimum, the payout appears in Payout history.

If something goes wrong

• Set up payouts is greyed out. Choose a Payout country first.
• "Could not open Stripe onboarding." Allow pop-ups and try again in a moment.
• "We could not reach Stripe just now…" The status may be out of date. Refresh in a moment.
• I chose the wrong country. Contact support. The payout account needs to be replaced.
• Automatic payouts are paused. Your eligible balance is still recorded. Payouts resume when the pause ends.
• A payout failed. Read the reason in Payout history and fix it in Stripe, such as updating bank details.

Email [email protected] with your affiliate code and the payout reference. Never send bank details, passwords or identity documents by email.

FAQ

Can I be paid by PayPal or Wise?

No. Affiliate payouts are sent through Stripe.

Do I lose earnings if I set up payouts late?

No. Commissions keep adding up and are paid once your payouts are set up.

Can I change my bank account?

Yes. Update it in Stripe. To change your payout country, contact support.
