Delete your account
Clean up the workspaces you own, then permanently delete your Spacebrain account from Settings → General, step by step.
This guide walks you through permanently deleting your Spacebrain account. Spacebrain guides you through it: first you deal with each workspace you own, then you confirm the deletion. It's for account owners who want to close their account for good.
This can't be undone
Deleting your account permanently removes your sign-in and your final personal workspace, including its connected credentials, files, AI memory, voice agents and records. Export anything you need first.
Before you begin
- Export what you want to keep. For example, export CRM records, download invoices from Settings → Billing → Invoices, and export any Orbit memory pages with Export Markdown.
- Cancel or change paid services you no longer need, such as phone numbers and connected provider accounts, in the provider's own settings too. Disconnecting in Spacebrain doesn't close your account with the provider.
- Know which workspaces you own. You need to delete or hand over each one except your default (personal) workspace.
- Agency owners: client sub-accounts must be resolved through Agency → Sub-accounts first.
- Have your sign-in email to hand. You type it to confirm.
What happens to your data
| What | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your final personal workspace | Deleted with your account. |
| Other workspaces you own | You must delete them or transfer them to someone else first. |
| Workspaces owned by other people | Stay as they are. Only your membership is removed. |
| An empty agency | Closes automatically when your account is deleted. |
| Billing or security records Spacebrain must keep by law | Kept, with restricted access, only for as long as required. |
Step 1: Open account deletion
- Select Settings at the bottom of the sidebar. This opens General settings.
- Scroll to Account management and find the Delete account card.
What you should see: if you only own your default workspace, the card shows Your final workspace, [name], will be deleted with your account. Go to Step 3. If you own other workspaces, you see Resolve your workspaces before deleting your account and a list of them. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Clean up the workspaces you own
Each workspace in the list tells you what to do next. The buttons switch you into that workspace for you.
Delete a workspace
- Select Review deletion next to the workspace. This opens its Workspace settings on the General tab.
- Scroll to Danger Zone and select Delete Workspace.
- Read the warning (This action cannot be undone. All data associated with this workspace will be permanently deleted.) and select Confirm Delete.
Transfer a workspace to someone else
- Select Transfer ownership next to the workspace. This opens the Members tab.
- The new owner must already be a member. If they aren't, invite them first from Invitations.
- Open the menu next to their name and select Transfer Ownership.
- In Send Ownership Transfer, select Send Invitation.
We email them a link to accept. Nothing changes until they accept. When they do, you become an Admin, and future credit charges and subscription billing for that workspace move to their account. While you wait, the workspace shows Ownership transfer pending. Select Cancel there to withdraw the transfer.
A transfer isn't finished until it's accepted
The workspace stays on your list until the new owner accepts. Ask them to check their email, or delete the workspace instead.
Other messages you may see
- Managed workspace — resolve through your agency. Select Manage client accounts to handle it in Agency → Sub-accounts.
- Default workspace — keep this for the final account deletion. Leave this one. It's deleted with your account. If other people are members, select Manage members to review them.
- For help moving a workspace, select Need help with a transfer? to open Help & support.
When you're done, go back to Settings → General and select Check again.
Step 3: Confirm the deletion
- On the Delete account card, select Delete my account (or Delete account and workspace).
- In Account email, type the email address you sign in with.
- In Confirmation word, type DELETE in capital letters.
- Select Permanently delete account (or Permanently delete account and workspace).
To stop, select Keep my account.
What you should see: Account access revoked. Permanent deletion is processing. You're signed out and returned to the sign-in page. Deletion finishes in the background.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The delete button is greyed out | You still own more than one workspace. Delete or transfer the others, then select Check again. |
| Deletion eligibility could not be checked | Select Check again. If it keeps happening, contact support. |
| A workspace is still listed after you transferred it | The new owner hasn't accepted yet. Ask them to accept, or cancel the transfer and delete the workspace. |
| You can't find Transfer Ownership in the member menu | Only the owner can transfer, it isn't available for the default workspace, and only one transfer can be pending at a time. |
| The deletion request could not be completed | Wait a moment and try again. Check that you typed your email and DELETE exactly. |
FAQ
Can I just delete one workspace and keep my account?
Yes. Open Settings → Workspace, go to the General tab and use Delete Workspace in Danger Zone. Your default workspace can't be deleted on its own. It's only deleted with your account.
Will my teammates lose access?
Only to workspaces you delete. Workspaces you transfer keep their members. Workspaces owned by other people aren't affected.
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?
Your final workspace and its data are deleted. To avoid surprises, review Settings → Billing before you start and cancel anything you don't need. See workspace, billing and usage.
Can support restore a deleted account?
No. Deletion is permanent. Make sure you've exported what you need.
