Landing page and funnel journey starter
Download a fill-in plan for a lead-capture page or funnel covering the message, questions, thank-you step, follow-up and tests before you publish.
This planning sheet helps you design a web page that turns visitors into leads, before you open the builder. You'll decide who it's for, what you're offering, what you'll ask, what happens after someone submits, and how you'll test it. It's for marketers, business owners and agencies building pages in Sites.

Before you begin
- Role: Editor or higher.
- Have ready: your offer in one sentence, your logo and brand colours, images you have the right to use, and links to your privacy policy and terms.
- Know where leads should go: which CRM fields each answer fills, and who follows up.
Landing page or funnel?
- Landing page: one page, one goal. Best for most offers, such as "Get a free quote."
- Funnel: several pages in order, such as sign-up → booking → thank you, or a page that branches depending on answers. Use one only if visitors genuinely need more than one step.
Every extra step loses some visitors, so start with a single page if you can.
The plan

Downstream
- Form response:
- CRM destination and field mapping:
- Optional automation and owner:
- Analytics evidence:In everyday words: Promise is what visitors get, Primary CTA is the main button, Unpublish condition is when you'd take the page down, and Downstream is what happens in Spacebrain after someone submits.
Worked example: free cleaning quote
Audience: Homeowners in Leeds with a 2–4 bedroom house
Promise: A fixed-price cleaning quote within one business day
Primary action: Submit the quote form
Owner: Priya (sales)
Unpublish condition: Spam submissions, or leads not arriving in the CRM
Step 1 — Landing page
- Message: "Spotless home, fixed price. Get your quote in one day."
Three customer reviews and a photo of the team.
- Main button: "Get my quote"
- Links: privacy policy, terms
Step 2 — Form
- Name, email, phone (to send and discuss the quote)
- Postcode (to check we cover the area)
- Number of bedrooms (to price the job)
- Tick box: "Email me about my quote" (required)
Step 3 — Thank you
- "Thanks! Priya will send your quote by tomorrow."
- Phone number for urgent questions
Downstream
- Form responses: Sites → Forms → Quote form → Responses
- CRM: new lead in CRM → Leads, with postcode and bedrooms in custom fields
- Automation: thank-you email + task for Priya (see the lead follow-up recipe)
- Measuring: form responses and new leads per weekBuild it
- Form first. Go to Sites → Forms, build the form, match each question to a CRM field, then Preview.
- Page next. Go to Sites → Landing Pages (or Sites → Funnels), add your message and the form, and preview on mobile.
- Publish. Publish the form and the page.
- Follow-up last. Add an automation only after test submissions reliably create leads. The lead follow-up recipe is a good start.
- Tracking (optional). If you run ads, add your pixel ID under Conversions. Tracking starts after you publish.
For step-by-step building, see landing pages and funnels and Forms.
Test it before you share it
Open the live link in a private browser window (so you're not signed in) and try each of these:
| Test | What should happen |
|---|---|
| Open on a phone and a computer | Page loads, text is readable, button is easy to tap |
| Submit with a required field empty | Clear message, nothing submitted |
| Submit an invalid email | Clear message asking you to fix it |
| Submit your own details correctly | Thank-you step appears; one response and one lead in Spacebrain |
| Submit twice, or refresh after submitting | You know what happens (two leads or one) and you're happy with it |
| Press back partway through a funnel | Nothing breaks |
| Leave the consent box unticked | You can't submit, or no marketing email is sent |
| Follow-up automation switched off | Lead still arrives; nothing else breaks |
| Your web address (custom domain) | Opens securely (https) and goes to the right page |
| Unpublish | The page stops accepting submissions |
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Submissions but no leads | Check the email question is matched to the Email field and you're in the right workspace. |
| The live page shows old content | Publish again (for forms, Publish new version). |
| The domain doesn't load | See domain and publishing troubleshooting. |
| Lots of spam | Unpublish, then add a required question or tighten the form before republishing. |
FAQ
How many questions should I ask?
Only what you need for the next step. You can ask for more detail later, on a call or in a follow-up email.
Do I need a custom domain?
No. You can publish on a Spacebrain address. A custom domain looks more professional and can be added later.
