Social Media overview

Learn what each Social Media page does, connect your first account, and publish a first post safely from Spacebrain.

Social Media lets you plan, create, review, schedule, and measure posts for your business accounts from one place. This page is for anyone setting up Social Media for the first time. It explains what each page is for and walks you through a safe first post.

Social Media may not be switched on yet

Social Media is being released gradually. If you don't see Social Media in the sidebar, it isn't available in your workspace yet. Individual pages, networks, and AI tools can also appear at different times. Use only what your workspace shows.

Before you begin

  • Access: you need edit access in the workspace to connect accounts and create posts. People with view-only access see Viewer access is read-only. and can look but not change anything.
  • A business account: have the login for the Facebook Page, Instagram professional account, LinkedIn profile or Page, X account, TikTok creator account, or YouTube channel you want to use. You sign in on the network's own site; Spacebrain never asks for your password.
  • Brand basics: a logo, a few approved images, and a short description of how your brand sounds. You can add these later in Brand Kit and Media Library.
  • Credits (optional): creating, scheduling, and approving posts is free. AI tools always show a credit quote and wait for you to confirm before they run.

Where to find it

Open Social Media in the sidebar. The menu is grouped like this:

Set up Social Media in six steps

1. Connect one account

  1. Open Social Media → Connections.
  2. Under Choose a channel, pick a network, for example Instagram or LinkedIn.
  3. Read Before you connect and Permissions explained so you know what Spacebrain will be able to do.
  4. Select the Continue with button. It names the company you sign in with: Continue with Meta for Instagram and Facebook, Continue with Google for YouTube, and the network's own name for LinkedIn, X, and TikTok. A new window opens on that company's site.
  5. Sign in with the business account and approve access.
  6. If you manage several Pages or profiles, Select accounts to connect appears. Tick only the ones you want and select Connect selected.
  7. Back in Spacebrain, select Verify connection.

What you should see: the account appears under Connected accounts. Its readiness shows whether Publishing, Analytics, and Reply automations are ready.

2. Add your brand

Open Social Media → Brand Kit and select Create your first Brand Kit. Fill in your voice, words to use and avoid, colors, and logo, then select Activate. See Brand Kit.

3. Add media

Open Social Media → Media Library and upload the images, videos, and fonts you are allowed to use. You can pick them later from the post editor.

4. Create a test post

  1. Open Social Media → Publisher and select Create post.
  2. Under Publish to, choose only your test account.
  3. Write the text in Base content, add media, and check the Live channel preview.
  4. Select Save draft.

5. Get it approved (if your team uses approvals)

Select Submit for review. A reviewer approves it in Social Media → Approvals. Approval never publishes a post on its own.

6. Publish and check

Select Schedule or Publish now. When the post shows published, open the network and confirm the post is there and looks right.

Full details are in Publish and schedule posts.

Worked example: a weekly café post

Maya runs a café. She connects the café's Instagram account, creates a Brand Kit with a "friendly, local, no hype" voice, and uploads three photos of the new menu. In Publisher she writes one post, attaches a photo, and previews it. Her manager approves it in Approvals. Maya schedules it for Friday at 8:00, and on Friday she checks Instagram to confirm it went out. Next week she uses Campaigns → Evergreen queues to reuse her best posts automatically.

FAQ

Does "Connected" mean I can publish?

Not always. Check the readiness for Publishing on that account, then publish one test post and confirm it on the network.

Can I use Social Media without connecting anything?

Yes. On a channel setup page, select Explore Social Media without connecting. You can build a Brand Kit, add media, and write drafts. You need a connected account to publish or see analytics.

Which networks are supported?

Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube. What you can do differs by network. For example, TikTok and YouTube publish video only.

Does using AI cost credits?

Only AI actions do. Each one shows a Maximum charge before it runs, and you choose whether to continue. Writing, scheduling, approvals, campaigns, and queues use no credits.
